WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND ?
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY – 30th JULY
The world is celebrating friendship day/week!
Last evening, when I entered my daughter’s room, i saw her making friendship bands & cards for her friends
So many cards with few abbreviations on it – BF, BFF, BFFE ….
I asked her what do they stand for.
She said Its Best Friend, Forever and Ever …
I was thrilled!
While she was busy, trying to figure out, whose name to write on which card, she asked me “Mamma, who is your best friend !”
I laughed and said – I don’t know, I don’t use that language anymore. It. Doesn’t fit.
I have friends that hold keys to different doors for me, my personality.
Some open my heart, some my laughter- joy & mischief;
Some My sin- fear & grief; some my civic urgency.
Some … my history- journey & my pride;
Some my rawest confusion and vulnerability,
and some, just turn the key to open the best version of me.
…. wishing you all kinds of “best friends ‘ in life.
