Too Late to Start Over? Let Me Tell You a Story !
The Question That Changed Everything
During a consulting session with a client — a tycoon by every measure — we unearthed something powerful: a long-forgotten dream. A version of himself he once wanted to become. It hadn’t disappeared — it had just been buried under titles, responsibility, and routine.
He asked, almost whispering:
“Isn’t it too late now… for me to start that?”
I smiled and said:
“Don’t see age as a vertical line. It’s a horizontal canvas. Let your experiences add depth. Age is just a measure of time, and time is merely a dimension. Step out of that limitation. Be creative, as creativity is a higher dimension than time — you look at things differently, your frequency shifts, and you vibrate differently.”
That moment changed everything for him. He didn’t just feel successful anymore — he felt fulfilled.
My Own Crossroads
I started teaching Kathak at 9 — to kids from our staff quarters in the out-house, who had no access to school. By 11, I was teaching neighborhood kids to fund their ghungroos and notebooks — not for profit, but for purpose.
At 14, I lost my father. My grandmother raised both me and my young mother. That same year, I founded Kalasaadhna art and culture centre. It became my refuge, my response to grief, and my way to support the growing crowd at my small charity classes.
Didnt have many firends and school / curriculum never really excited me. But my little venture with Kathak gave me direction — and the rhythm to keep moving forward.
Despite scoring third division in my board exams, I was accepted into one of Patna’s top colleges through the Fine Arts quota — a doorway into new possibilities.
NCC transformed me — from intensive training and awards, to being the Best Cadet – RDC & marching at Rajpath, and representing India through the Youth Exchange Program.
Reinvention in Motion
In Delhi, I continued running my Kathak school while exploring new spaces — IBM, DELL, Times of India- Radio Mirchi, and and Private Equity at 3i India and many more … I didn’t just learned, experienced, I changed stories — of who I was and who I could be.
In 2006, I was selected by SSB Allahabad for SSC in the Indian Army. I still remember the interview:
“Why do you want to join the Army?”
Holding that call letter from Army HQ felt like a dream — and a turning point. I realised I could serve the country in more ways than one. So, I chose a different battlefield — the one within.
Mumbai, A New Mission
When I moved to Mumbai, a new chapter began. I got married, launched businesses, and founded the Shivaakriti Foundation — promoting Indian art & culture, working on eco activism, supporting underprivileged and specially-abled communities, and creating Kathak training models rooted in Mental – emotional wellbeing & holistic healing.
I’ve never accept donations. I fund it all through my work. Because service isn’t always charity — sometimes, it’s your identity.
Building Bridges, Not Ladders
From Kathak dancer to being a Kathak Guru , turned into a holistic healthcoach & eco-activist, from corporate professional to entrepreneur to a key note speaker and an experimental artist — my paths have always been about building bridges between people, disciplines, and parts of myself.
I’ve taught CXOs, s poken at IITs, trained doctors and police officers, and designed programs for leaders — blending Kathak with neuroscience, quantum healing, fitness, and ancient wisdom.
And now again, I’m at a turning point.
“You’ve mastered this piece. Time to discover the next.”
The Many Versions of Me (And You)
Inside all of us live many versions of me. Some quiet. Some bold. Some still waiting.
Let them rise. Let them lead.
We’re not here to follow timelines. We’re here to experience truth. To follow our inner rhythm.
Because reinvention isn’t rebellion. It’s rhythm.
And I’m ready for my next leap.
👣 What about you?
- What version of you is waiting to be lived?
- What path are you quietly considering — or courageously stepping into?
